Travelling for work
During the Covid-19 pandemic, CCG colleagues were asked to work from home and were not permitted to visit other organisations for meetings.
When released from pandemic restrictions, CCG and now ICB colleagues have returned to driving between sites and to other locations for agile working, meetings and collaboration. The ICB wants to ensure that all colleagues travel for work safely. The Easy expenses system requires colleagues to share tax, MOT and insurance information. In addition, it should be noted that the DVLA restricts the right to drive where an individual is on particular medication. Colleagues should visit the DVLA website if they are in doubt about their medication.
Colleagues should not drive if they do not feel well enough or are too tired to do so. They must ensure that they have adequate time for the journey and parking. It is illegal to use mobile phones while driving and the ICB does not support the use of mobile phones with ‘hands-free’ technology whilst driving. It is important that you arrive safely at your destination.
There were changes to the Highway Code in January 2022. You can read about the changes in this document: Highway Code Changes
