Sarah Green, Interim Chief People Officer

Having recently stepped into the position as Interim Chief People Officer, Sarah shares a little more about herself with us.

I originally commenced my career as a nurse, I then became a midwife working in the community and latterly as a senior lead in a large inner city delivery suite.

With a passion for learning, I became a qualified lecturer and occupied several posts in higher education working across research, commercial partnerships and becoming the Head of Department for Nursing and Midwifery, which involved collaboration with a diverse range of partners and academic institutes.

Missing the opportunity to influence the NHS more directly, I was provided opportunities to move back into NHS and have since occupied leadership positions working across people and clinical teams, enabling workforce development and transformation at both provider, system, regional and national levels.

Over the past few years, I have worked as the BSW Academy Director, establishing longer term strategic workforce priorities with system partners around areas of education, inclusion, improvement, organisational development, leadership and service re-design.

As part of the BSW ICB senior people team I have also worked closely on the ICB People programmes of work such as Project Evolve.

I am looking forward to now having the opportunity to work with colleagues to progress our organisational priorities as the interim Chief People Officer, a role that captures my passion for people, workforce and service delivery.

I am also a mother with a teenage boy who will say I have no cooking skills (sad but true), but can colour code his GSCE study revision like no other…
